Our Vetting Process meets the highest possible standard of care
Every sitter on KidSitter goes through a rigorous 6-step vetting process before they can accept bookings. Your children's safety is our top priority.
Childcare Professionals Only
All our sitters are in the childcare profession. They primarily consist of nannies, school teachers, nursery staff and play-workers. They are also more likely to have specialised childcare related qualifications like the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in childcare. Only a few sitters who apply meet this criteria.
DBS Checks
Every sitter is DBS checked. Formerly known as CRB, this is the UK's version of a police record, and is required by every school, nursery, childminder or other institution where children are present.
Read DBS guidance from the UK GovernmentID and Address Verification
Every sitter must provide identification and proof of address. We match this up with their DBS check and verify the validity of all the documents.
Interview
We conduct in-person or video interviews with every sitter. This is similar to a job interview, where we observe the sitter's professionalism, attitude, communication and behavioural skills, as well as discussing their professional experience in childcare. Only those who we would hire to look after our own children qualify.
Reference Checks
We conduct at least two reference checks for every sitter. This is to make sure there is no doubt about the skills, experience or competence level of our sitters. These references are published on the sitter profile page.
Continuous Monitoring
Every sitter is monitored continuously to make sure performance levels remain high. From periodic re-certifications of their credentials to guest feedback, we do everything to maintain our high standards.
